Katie Wigglesworth is a visual artist living and working in Los Angeles. Her creative practice is primarily comprised of silence and attentiveness. She devotes her time, in and out of the studio, to observation; giving attention to the landscape of daily commutes, the qualities and routines of people close to her, the texture of different season’s light, rhythms and routines of home-life, and so on. Her practice is filled with, and fueled by, this slow accumulation. Primarily working in the medium of textiles, the repetition inherent in attentiveness finds its mirror in the familiar rhythms of accumulated woven, knit, and sewn lines that make up her work.
