Led an online leadership workshop for the Cyclical Online cohort.
Cyclical is a vast network of faith leaders that is continually expanding its reach. Behind this impressive growth is the desire to connect with and support leaders from all walks of life. One of its newest ecosystems, Cyclical Online, is venturing out into the online space. I was invited to lead a workshop for their new online cohort.
The task was to consider how to create an experience for highly competent leaders who needed a reprieve from the loneliness of leadership. In response, I designed a virtual workshop on 'Soul Care for Leaders'. Through a guided meditation, virtual exercises, and collective prayer, each participant was invited to use our hour and a half together to reconnect with their own dreams and desires.
The experience was a reminder that there are many ways that leaders can reconnect with their own desires even while serving and leading their communities. It was also an opportunity to share creative ideas on how online spaces have their own set of benefits that differ from in-person experiences.
Cyclical is dedicated to "Inspiring Faithful Innovation Through the Church" by supporting church planters and church leaders.
Dea artfully led us through a time of grounding, reflection, and mutuality. What a gift to experience that for ourselves as leaders, and also to be equipped for leading a similar exercise with the communities we shepherd and guide!
